In this video, I will show you how to define and use custom queries with Spring Data JPA. You will learn how to execute JPQL and native queries, use an expression language in your queries and execute queries that INSERT, UPDATE, or REMOVE records. But before we start, if this is your first time here, and you want to learn how to create your entity mappings with ease, build incredible efficient persistence layers with Hibernate and all types of other Java persistence related stuff, start now by subscribing and clicking the bell, so you don't miss anything. Derived queries are very comfortable to use as long as the queries are not too complicated. But as soon as you use more than 2-3 query parameters or need to define multiple joins to other entities, you need a more flexible approach. In these situations, you better use Spring Data JPA’s 🤍Query annotation to specify a custom JPQL or native SQL query. Query means a request for data from a database. Using a query allows you to review data from multiple tables simultaneously. For database management, you’ll need to use a query language like SQL, AQL, Datalog, or DMX. 👉 How Do Queries Work? Queries add meaning to the code so the system can understand and execute actions. Users and databases can exchange information as long as they use the same language. 👉 Query Languages There are two types of query languages: Structured Query Language (SQL) and Not Only Structured Query Language (NoSQL). The main difference between them is the data structure. 👉 Query Examples There are a lot of query commands for managing data in a database table. Learn some of the commands by watching this video. Query letters can be daunting! Today I'm going to break the query down into three sections to create an easy template/format you can use to write your own query. I'm also going to demonstrate how this template plays out in successful query letters. SHOW NOTES It's easiest to think about the query in three sections. These sections should be roughly between 100 and 300 words in total. Section One: -The problem (what the character wants or doesn't want) -The hook (something compelling about the story) -The inciting incident (the disruption of the status quo) Section Two: -The action (what the character does in response to the inciting incident) -A turning point in the plot Section Three: -(Optional) Another turning point in the plot -The stakes (what the character will lose if they fail) -The action (what the character must do to succeed) Check out all of these queries in their entirety: 🤍 Website: 🤍 Twitter: 🤍 Tip Jar: 🤍

Wouldn’t it be frustrating to beat around the bush to find a piece of information? That is where query optimisation comes in. Here’s a quick byte where we summarise how query optimisation works in Database Management System. Check out DBMS full course here- 🤍 What is Query Optimisation? Query optimisation is the process of improving the performance and efficiency of database queries. It involves analysing query execution plans, indexing strategies, and database statistics to minimise query execution time and resource usage, resulting in faster and more efficient retrieval of data. What is DBMS? DBMS stands for Database Management System. It is software that allows users to create, manage, and access databases. DBMS provides a set of tools and functions for storing, organising, retrieving, and manipulating data in a structured and efficient manner. It helps to ensure data consistency, security, and integrity. What is SQL? SQL stands for Structured Query Language, and it is a standard language used to manage and manipulate relational databases. SQL allows users to create, modify, and query databases, as well as to extract and manipulate data within them. SQL is used to perform a wide range of tasks, such as creating and modifying database schema, inserting, updating and deleting data, and querying the database to retrieve information. What are SQL Subqueries? Subqueries in SQL are queries that are nested within another query. They allow for more complex queries by enabling a query to reference the results of another query as a temporary table. This can be useful for filtering, sorting, and aggregating data in more complex ways than a single query can achieve. Learn how to write SQL Queries(Practice Complex SQL Queries) In this video, I will explain the thinking behind writing an SQL query. We shall go through five different complex SQL queries and try to solve it. The intention is to practice complex SQL queries. The idea is to not just write SQL Queries but also to explain you the thinking behind how to choose a particular approach to solve a SQL query and how to choose different SQL functions or concepts to solve a problem. Link to my blog where I have posted all of these SQL Queries: 🤍 In this blog, you will find 9 SQL queries along with all the scripts to create the table, load data into these tables and also the solved SQL Queries. Out of these 9 SQL Queries, In this video, I have only solved 5 of them in order to reduce the video length. Timeline: 00:00 Intro 01:36 Intro about the blog 03:25 SQL Query to fetch duplicate records from a table using window function 09:27 SQL Query to fetch doctors working in same hospital using self join 15:55 SQL Query to fetch users who logged in consecutively 3 or more times 25:10 SQL Query to fetch days when the temperature was very cold for consecutively 3 or more days 36:13 SQL Query to fetch top 2 accounts with maximum patients per month Learning SQL Concepts and practically writing SQL queries are two different things. You may be familiar with the concept such as window function but until and unless you apply these concepts to write SQL queries, you will never truly understand SQL. May of the queries I am going to solve in this video, I will be using window function such as LEAD, LAG, RANK, ROW_NUMBER etc. However, some of the queries are solved using self join, sub queries or inner joins. The idea behind making this video, is to explain the thinking behind solving an SQL question. How to read the question and understand the problem statement and then analyze the existing data so that we can come up with an approach to write a query which can return the required result. These steps are very important in order for us to determine the different SQL concepts or functions to be used to solve the problem. Please comment below your feedback if you liked this kind of video or if you have any doubts on any other queries mentioned in the blog. 🔴 WATCH MORE VIDEOS HERE 👇 ✅ SQL Tutorial - Basic concepts: 🤍 ✅ SQL Tutorial - Intermediate concepts: 🤍 ✅ SQL Tutorial - Advance concepts: 🤍 ✅ Practice Solving Basic SQL Queries: 🤍 ✅ Practice Solving Intermediate SQL Queries: 🤍 ✅ Practice Solving Complex SQL Queries: 🤍 ✅ Data Analytics Career guidance: 🤍 ✅ SQL Course, SQL Training Platform Recommendations: 🤍 ✅ Python Tutorial: 🤍 ✅ Git and GitHub Tutorial: 🤍 ✅ Data Analytics Projects: 🤍 THANK YOU, Thoufiq

In order to define SQL to execute for a Spring Data repository method, we can annotate the method with the 🤍Query annotation — its value attribute contains the JPQL or SQL to execute. The 🤍Query annotation takes precedence over named queries, which are annotated with 🤍NamedQuery or defined in an orm.xml file. It's a good approach to place a query definition just above the method inside the repository rather than inside our domain model as named queries. The repository is responsible for persistence, so it's a better place to store these definitions. 2.1. JPQL By default the query definition uses JPQL. Let's look at a simple repository method that returns active User entities from the database: 🤍Query("SELECT u FROM User u WHERE u.status = 1") Collection(User) findAllActiveUsers(); Please note: if you are using JPQL then you have to provide the exact Entity name in the entity class. else you will get below exception : org.hibernate.hql.internal.ast.QuerySyntaxException: table is not mapped Spring, Spring Data JPA: org.hibernate.hql.internal.ast.QuerySyntaxException: Test is not mapped Native We can use also native SQL to define our query. All we have to do is to set the value of the nativeQuery attribute to true and define the native SQL query in the value attribute of the annotation: 🤍Query( value = "SELECT * FROM UserDetails u WHERE u.status =?1", nativeQuery = true) Collection(UserDetails) findAllActiveUsersNative(); Regards, Debu Paul

Queries! They're how you get an agent. And getting an agent is how you traditionally publish a book. A query is a pitch for your book, a short letter you send to agents to entice them to read more of your book. I'm going over it ALL. Query basics, my favorite query formatting tips, discussion of comps, bios, personalization, and basic querying ettiquette/best practices. General query etiquette starts at 14:25 (everything before that is how to write a query) I have a downloadable guide to queries that outlines this information!
